A blog of art and life. I hope to post anything lovely on this site! I'll update my life, my recipes, my poems and my art. Any profit made from my art will go towards the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in San Francisco for 2011!

Ballroom Sketches
A few sketches from today are shown below. I want to make them into paintings. Most likely I'll use watercolor to do some type of faded background. We will see!

Birthday Love
I've decided to try out the whole blogging thing recently, and I must admit the thought sounded extremely appealing at first. Yet, the more I think about it, the more daunting the idea becomes. I know I have plenty to discuss. So much so, in fact, that I worry my thoughts will be scattered all over this page. Then I thought, well isn't that what blogging is, anyway? I just hope ya'll can follow my line of thought long enough to remain interested! So after a week of deliberating, here goes.
I figured what better way to start off a blog than with a birthday? Mine, that is. Duh. I am officially 25.1 years old. Well, I guess I'm lying to you already, since my birthday was really Wednesday the 11th. But I have been celebrating all week, and capped off the week with a birthday party last night. Before you get any wild ideas, it was quite mellow and relaxing... so don't go envisioning any strippers or oil wrestling shenanigans (that will be reserved for my 30th birthday, sometime in the deep, great, very FAR future).
Right. Back to the birthday thing. The party was wonderful with some very close friends and family. There was beer, pizza and salad. Amazingness, if you ask me. I feel very spoiled and cherished this week, as I realize just how many quality people surround me.
One told me I was getting so old, that I should just fart (picture of the card soon to come), and when I confessed to my mother that I was just staying home on the 11th and sipping a glass of wine, she boldly pronounced: "Thats IT? Wow, you really ARE getting old!". While visitng family, I brought a large candied apple, to share and enjoy on my birthday because why not? We only live once! Yet I pop that sucker outta the fridge, so excited to dig in and taste the chocolately goodness.. and my grandmother announces "Jenna! No wonder you've gained 8 lbs!"
As you can see, the love is endless.
I wouldn't have it any other way. There are more stories to come, I just need to wake up enough to remember them (after all, I am pretty old now.. so forgetting should be forgiven) and once I do, I'll broadcast to the world. I will not be shamed, I am never shamed.
Ciao for now,
Jenna

Rocker Girl -Emma
I decided to start a "Rocker Girl" serious. I'll start with Casual Rocker Chic, Emma. She'll be one of the guitarists of the group. So far this is just the outline, I'll color her in soon!
Sunflowers
Sadly, this one has already been sold! Size is 11x15. I can always do something similar if you like this one. The options are open :)
Rough Sketch of An Upcoming Watercolor Project
I cannot wait to add color to this one! I'm thinking of doing the tree in navy blues, and greys, with the background and moon done in mauve and plum purples. Of course the leaves will be olive greens and lime greens. I am expecting this one to be a hit!
A Family Portrait
Fundraiser for the 2011 Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in San Francisco
This is my first attempt at a family portrait for a friend. It was pretty successful I think! Her son Ian, on the left, loves to skateboard and her son Blake, on the right, is 14 and interested in weight lifting. He is always joking and flexing his muscles for us. Onne herself enjoys her wine. She loves it and wants to purchase it. This might be a very promising plan to help me raise money for the 2011 Avon walk for Breast Cancer in San Francisco!
